ABOUT:

This plugin/script is a rework on the front facing enemy battle system on RPG Maker MV & MZ. In purchasing this you get both scripts for MZ & MV! I was looking for one and couldn't find any that were what I wanted so I created one. This allows for an idle animation for your enemy, attack animation, death animation, as well as the ability for animations for all of your conditions (Sleep, Poison, etc.) 


Please keep in mind this is an Engine. Which means it will more than likely NOT work with any other engines.

Hi, this plugin looks awesome! Does this work with Yanfly plugins like BattleEngineCore and CoreEngine?

More than likely no 😢 The CoreEngine might work with it, but this is technically its own separate battle engine. ✨ 

Hi, the plugin is, visually great, but i'm finding after the enemy dies the game freezes their are no error either so im confused as to what the problem is

That's really odd. What plugins do you currently have installed outside of the front enemies?

looking into it, it seems to have issues with yep core engine. I added that as my game is plugin heavy and I’m trying to make it more stable and run smoother. When I turn yep core off it works fine, issue is without that the game eventually crashes due to rpg maker mv  memory leak issue. That’s my theory but if you can help. All my other plugin are things like mog jukebox, galv fishing game Gavl layers all though seem to work fine along side your plugin, it’s definitely the Yep Core engine the conflict but I’ve got no idea how to resolve the issue

Unfortunately this won’t work with other battle engines since it’s its own engine. Most engines can’t really work together, so sadly they aren’t compatible. If you’d prefer a refund because of that, just let me know and I can issue one for you! 💕

Even before putting the plugin in my project, I tried the demo and the plugins doesnt work? Since its uses a blank before going through the rest of the pictures, its just blank for me. I am using rpgmaker mv 1.5.2. 

What do?

If you do not mind try installing a new MZ 'game', switching your Corescript to v1.6.0 (just go to Game > Update Corescript, and change it from 1.9.0 to 1.6.0) as well as changing the file name to Xy_AnimatedFrontEnemy. See if that works, I am very sorry you're having issues with my plugin and sorry for asking so much of you, it means a lot you're being very patient with me 💖

This plugin is great - I've imported my own sprites etc. onto MZ and it's working well/easy to use with great flexibility for status-specific animations. I have two quick questions about it;

I have noticed that when an enemy finishes their attack animation, there appears to be a brief moment where the enemy's sprite disappears entirely before switching back to their idle sprite - the quirk is also in your explainer clip above. Do you know if there's any way around that? It can be a bit distracting to have the enemy blip out of existence for a moment after they throw a punch! It's also possible it could happen for switching between other animations as well (not just my attack -> idle example) but I haven't gotten around to testing it for anything else.

Also, would there be any potential to add functionality for specific moves to have specific attack animations? Like a boxer having a special uppercut animation for the move "uppercut", and retaining a normal punch animation for their normal attack?

About the sprite "blip" after the enemy attacks — yes, I’ve definitely noticed that too! I’ve been trying to figure out a clean fix for it, and I am looking into it, but no promises just yet~ 💦 It seems to be a tricky timing thing I haven’t quite pinned down, but I’m hoping to smooth it out eventually!

As for your second question — having specific animations tied to specific skills is definitely something I’d love to add! That’s actually been on my mind since the beginning, and it’s totally possible for a future update but once again no promises just yet. 💪✨

Is this plugin not compatible with YEP Battle Engine & Core Engine? I have to turn both of them off to make it not break combat entirely.. and that's not really something I want to do to make this plugin function, how do I fix this?

Aww I'm really sorry it's not working well with your setup! Most battle systems do not work with eachother sadly, so they do conflict a bit~ 😢

For some reason, for me, the attack animation loops, and also, there's times were the image disappears for a moment in between animation also, enemies overlap a lot

That's really odd! Could you send me a video of what’s happening? You can upload it as an unlisted YouTube video if that’s easiest! 💫 Also, what plugins are you currently using with it? And which version of RPG Maker MV are you on? I’ll do my best to help you figure it out :3 💖

I see the problem lol, I'm running it on MZ, still, works amazing surprisingly

I managed to fix the overlay issue by just spacing them manually

Are you planning on making a version for MZ?

I'll see if that works when I get home tomorrow, I'm on vacation rn lol, and even if I can't fix it, your plugin works really well otherwise! I'm still definitely gonna use it, because I already found a work around for one of my issues! Dw about it!

Ok, so it didn't have any noticeable changes, uhh idrk what to do

Theres the video, whenever it finishes uploading (This enemy is a test to check how the animations work) and yes, I changed the code, but only adding 'Burned' and 'Frozen' to the list of things it checks for, so it cant be that
